reasons for cycling

Most of people say that cycling is very healthy and they suggest you to use the bike as much as you can. But what are the reasons to use it?

On one hand cycling is not only a way to exercise outdoors and to get fit but also it is a fast and cheap way to move in some cities. First you need to get a bicycle, you can get a second-hand bike for a good price. The second thing that you need is a secure lock in order to protect it. You should be careful where you leave your bike because in London there are a lot of steals.

On the other hand there are some disadvantages, cycling is not a good way to move if you need to go very far away. It is a good form of transport if you are in a small city or if you are going to use it for moving around a small area. Other cons is that is not ideal in some places for example in big cities can be quite dangerous due to the massive traffic of cars (i.e. center of London is not a good city for using it) however there are countries such as Belgium or Holland where the use of bikes is very common  and they have their streets and their live adapted in order to  use bicycles to move in the cities.

Finally it is not clear that cycling is so healthy, depend on the place where you are. There are some research  where shows that in big cities riding isn't healthy because of the contamination in the air. If you are surround by a lot of cars they are putting out a lot of  gases and carbon emissions and you are going to breathe it.

At first sight cycling is a quite good and healthy way to move but you should take into account where you are    and the use you are going to give to your bike.
